Okay an mp3 is an audio file which is cd quality and it compresses to about 1mb per minute of song. You can locate mp3 all over the web on dalnet for example stop in the channel #mp3central. If u feel sassy and wanna make your own mp3's then your gonna need a few software utilities such as:
1. Cd Ripper: What this does is rips the audio information of an audio cd and saves it as a .wav file on your pc's hard drive.
2. Encoder: This takes the .wav files saved from your ripper and compresses them into a mp3 format.
3. A Player: Pretty self explanatory

If u have those 3 things then you can create your own mp3 files and play them on your computer as well as trade them on the net..
